VALUE COURSES:

Eagle Crest - (BEST KEPT SECRET!) Hidden jewel of North County. Priced lower than their competitors because it is hidden in the San Pasqual Valley out by the Wild Animal Park. Ron Fream designed this course with tight fairways and some nice elevation changes. Since construction, a lot more homes have been built around the course. You’ll need to be on your A game to score well out here. 35 miles NE of downtown (around the corner from the Wild Animal Park).

Twin Oaks - (LOCAL FAVORITE!) Ask any local and they've played multiple rounds at Twin Oaks over the years. It is demanding course but also offers a fair test for golfers of all skill levels. Twin Oaks includes 2 signature water features and plays adjacent to a protected wildlife habitat, adding to an experience that is both challenging and picturesque. The elevation changes combined with quick, undulating greens create a course with both open and target-oriented holes. 39 miles NE of downtown.

ENJOYABLE MID-TIER COURSES:

Carmel Mtn. Ranch - (LONGEST CART PATH - OVER 9 MILES!) Carmel Mountain Ranch is a proud past host of a local U.S. Open Qualifier and a PGA Tour event qualifier. Panoramic mountain and valley views provide a magnificent backdrop to this exquisitely manicured, visually breathtaking course with no parallel fairways. The distinctive rolling terrain and winding layout present imposing barrancas, pot bunkers, running streams and natural boulder formations which therefore demand exacting shot placement. 23 miles NE of downtown.

Steele Canyon - (MOST ELEVATION!) We probably send the most business to Steele Canyon due to the quality of the course and value compared to other courses in the area. It's a Gary Player Signature course and voted 4 1/2 Stars by Golf Digest. They are currently semi-private but looking to become a totally private course should they get to the 300 member point. Only 21 miles from the airport, 27-holes, and lots of elevation. We recommend the Canyon/Ranch rotation. 21 miles SE of downtown.

Temecula Creek Inn - (MOST ENJOYABLE TECMECULA COURSE!) Play all 27 holes if you can! Golfer's can't decide which rotation is their favorite. This gem is surrounded by over 300 acres of rustic beauty, dramatic elevation changes, sweeping mountain views and year-round sunny weather and was awarded a 4 Star rating from Golf Digest's "Places to Play." Prepare for a perfect combination of challenging golf and breathtaking scenery. 61 miles NE of downtown (In Temecula's Wine Country).

HIGH-END GOLF:

Rancho Bernardo Inn - (BEST GOLF SHOP!) One of only two courses in San Diego to have hosted both a PGA and LPGA event (Torrey Pines is the other both designed by Billy Bell ). Challenging resort style layout with holes designed for all ability levels. Very nice conditions with phenomenal customer service and great overall facilities for both tee times and tournament events. 27 miles NE of downtown.
